EXTENSION FOR PAYMENT OF ANNUAL RETENTION FEES FOR THE YEAR 2021 TO 28^th FEBRUARY WITH NO RETENTION FEE PENALTIES

1. According to Section 55 (b) of the Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Act, Cap 219, all registered medicines and medical devices are required to be maintained in the register of registered medicines and medical devices by paying Annual Retention Fees.
2. The Retention Fees are required to be paid before 31st of January of each calendar year as per TMDA Fees and Charges Regulations, 2015 and its amendment Regulations of 2017.
3. In view of requests from our stakeholders, the Authority has decided to extend the deadline for payment of annual retention fees for the year 2021, from 31^st January 2020 to 28^th February 2021. Thereafter payment of retention fees will be charged with a 25% penalty.
4. According to the Regulations cited above, after 28th February, 2021 Import Permits will not be issued to any product of which it’s Annual Retention Fee has not been paid.
5. All companies are required to collect invoices and pay annual retention fees for the year 2021 from TMDA Sub-Head Offices, located at Off Nelson Mandela Road, Mabibo External, Dar es Salaam before 28^th February 2021.
