Communication and Public Education Unit is under the Office of the Director General, which is responsible for mantaining the relationship between the Authority and its stakeholders, provide unbiased information on regulaory functions to the public and developing and implementig customer service programmes.

The section is basically focused on three communication and public education areas namely Clinical public education, Communication and Public relations and Customer Care. It is headed by a Manager who is assisted with Public Education and Customer Care officers

The unit serves the following function;

    Public education:
  1. To design, develop and impliment Public awareness programmes on the roles and functions of the Authority in protecting and promoting public health;
  2. To prepare and distribute Information, Education and Communication materials to coordinate the dissemination of IE&C/Promotion materials to the stakeholders i.e TMDA Newsletter, different newspapers, Annual Progress Reports and other publications
  3. To design and develop educational TV/Radio programmes, short spots and participate in live programmes

    2. To coordinate implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programmes
    3. To maintain the image of the Authority to the public and other stakeholders
    4. Maintaining media relations
    5. Coordinating participation of the Authority in various events and exhibitions

      2. To develop and implement customer service programmes including handling customers and TMDA visitors through the Customer Care Desk
      3. To respond to customers’ enquiries and handle complaints/compliments
      4. Conducting customer service delivery surveys
