TOBACCO PRODUCT LISTING

1. Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Authority (TMDA) is an Executive Agency under the Ministry of Health established under the Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Act, Cap. 219. TMDA is responsible for controlling the quality, safety and effectiveness of medicines, medical devices and diagnostics as well as regulation of tobacco products.
2. The Authority has established an online system for Tobacco Products Listing which will come into effect on 1^stNovember, 2023.
3. Therefore, all stakeholders intending to market their tobacco products in Tanzania are required to submit applications for listing of tobacco products in the format prescribed in the Guidelines for Tobacco Products Listing with effect from the date of this notice.
4. All tobacco products not listed in the Authority Register from the stated date will not be allowed to be marketed in Tanzania.
